A spiritual leader has recounted the occasion when a man tried to break into his Manchester Jewish temple during a deadly assault, stating "I observed wickedness, I saw hate".
The cleric explained that he and fellow worshippers held the entrances of the worship house as the attacker was "ramming the entrances, hurling heavy plant pots, doing whatever he was able to to enter".
Praising the fast-acting of those at the synagogue, he stated: "I saw real courage, I must admit, and individuals who rushed to assist others rather than escaping. It was astonishing."
